Pros and Cons - Overstock.com offers 40-70% of brand name items on everything from books to electronics. They are a huge discount department store on the web very similar to Amazon. Overstock appears to have an excellent affiliate opportunity that offers their affiliates tremendous support and plenty of promotional materials. My only beef with them is much like Amazon their commissions are too low at 4-7%. You would have to sell a high volume of goods to compete with an affiliate program that pays out 35-50% commissions. I would use Overstock as an affiliate program for extra cash and not try to utilize it for my main income stream. The goal of your website should be to create multiple income streams so it would not be a problem to post an Overstock banner or click-thru. They do have a leg up on Amazon because they pay every month versus 90 days so that is a plus. If you need an extra income producer on your site then give this a try just do not depend on a ton of extra income. I am sure that there are those that are making thousands of dollars a month with this affiliate program but the point I am trying to make to my readers is that at 4-7% commission it will take a high volume of sales to generate that kind of income. So let's see how Overstock ranks. Criteria for Good Affiliate Programs: Years in Business - (Prefer a minimum of 3) Meets minimum Commission Structure: 2 2 Tier Program: N Quality & Useful Products: 4.5 Frequency of Payments: Monthly/Every 30 days Affiliate Support: 4 Affiliate Marketing Resources: 5 Overall Score: 3.87 out of a possible 5
