Pros and Cons - Bright Builders is a company which claims to provide all of the tools and coaching necessary to start a flourishing online business utilizing drop-shipping and EBay. I contacted this company three years ago in hopes of doing just that, and the following is a summary of my experience. On the phone, the salesman tried to get me to spend $5,000 for their intermediate package. I was told I would receive personal coaching and be making at least $1,500-$2,000 a month within 2-3 months, all through EBay and my own online store. When I told him I didnt have $5,000, he said something about possible scholarship money, and ended up reducing the price to $3,000 plus $30 a month for hosting. I should have known better, but I was a newbie at the time, and desperately wanted to succeed. So, I forked over the money. My first step was to build a website using a tool they call the Bright Builder. It actually is a pretty cool site building system. Web based, very easy to learn, and produces professional looking results. I actually ended up building a very nice looking site. However, this is where the positive results stopped, as I began their training program. I came to find out that my training was limited to 6 half-hour sessions. I dont think the guy training me even worked for Bright Builders, but was just some guy they had outsourced. He was somewhat knowledgeable, but to be honest, most of the stuff he went over I already knew (I wasnt a complete newbie at this point, but still fairly new to internet marketing). He taught me basic site promotion tactics like ezine advertising, putting my link in my signature file for email and forum participation, etc One time he literally yelled at me when I had a question about what he was saying, and told me not to ask questions but just listen. I didnt spend $3,000 to be scolded! But I kept my cool, and towards the end of the sessions asked when we were going to go over EBay. It turned out that he barely even used EBay and knew just the bare minimum about it! He actually told me this. Learning to make money on EBay was the whole reason I had signed up with this damn company! At this point, I pretty much realized Id been scammed. I explained how I felt to one of B.B.s customer service reps, and she just referred me to some websites that explained a little about EBay (once again, nothing cutting-edgejust basic stuff). I couldnt get my money back, due to the fact I had a verbal contract with them which they had recorded over the phone the day of purchase (which should have been a red flag right there).
Recommended? NO! I can still think of more negatives I experienced with Bright Builders, but this review is long enough to get my point across. Do Not Do Business With Bright Builders.
