Pros and Cons - In the month of December I decided to buy a gift for my wife, as every one does on the Christmas occasion. I decided to buy a Cuisinart GK4 Panini maker found at 13 stores. I proceeded to the comparison and amazon.com claimed that they had the product in stock for a price of $99.95 with no sales tax and free shipping and handling. When I was directed to the amazon.com I learned that it was not the truth they were charging exorbitant for the product and that the shipping was also charged. Utilizing bait and switch tactics they directed me to one of their vendors who was trying to sell the product for $99.95 as claimed and the proceeding to shipping and handling charges $40.85, the total was $140.80 which was too expensive.
I was very upset and so I called the customer service line the manager said that he did not have the authority to resolve my complaint and also said that the product will cost me $129 with no shipping charges as mentioned on the site. Previous to this I wanted to upgrade my computers RAM. I Googled to look for the right match for me. I was redirected to Amazon because I found the exact RAM I needed (1gbyte) and it was for $39.95 w/free shipping. WOW! So when I got there I found the product and it said not available! So I typed in my computer info and the RAM needed and found an exact match! It was for $79.95w/free shipping. Thats a big difference.
I bought it because I was saving about $10. When I got it, it wasnt even the same thing I ordered. When I called they told me isnt that what you ordered? NO! They gave me a hard time but eventually agreed to take it back so I was happy about that.
Recommended? Well I would definately ask the seller about the product before proceeding. I saved $10 on the order (if it would have been the right one) but it was used. If someone touched it with their bare hands they can potentially ruin part or all of it by static. So Yes I do only if you do your homework....
